GWM celebrates two important recognitions in Turin Automotive Design Awards (TADA) 2026, an initiative of the Turin Auto Show that seeks to highlight outstanding proposals in automotive design and innovation.

The event took place in Turin, Italy, September 11, 2026. And the place couldn't be more special to talk about automobiles: Turin is one of the great historical capitals of automotive design and has been the setting for the work of names like Pininfarina, Bertone, Italdesign and Ferrari, which have left their mark on the evolution of the automobile.

In this edition participated 87 models from 46 brands, evaluated by a jury composed of representatives from ten renowned specialized media outlets in the automotive sector in Italy. The GWM HOUR 5 received the award for Best Interior Design in the category Family vehicle, while the GWM TANK 300 he was recognized for his Technological Innovation in the category Premium vehicle.

Design and innovation with international recognition

GWM design and innovation with international recognition

Created in 2025, the TADA seeks to recognize vehicles that stand out for their design and technology in the automotive market. The 2026 edition included three categories: Urban Vehicle (City Car), Family Vehicle (Family Car) and Premium Vehicle (Premium Car), evaluating aspects such as exterior design, interior, and technological innovation.

For GWM, receiving these two recognitions means seeing the work behind its vehicles valued, as well as a proposal that seeks to combine design, technology, and functionality to offer new experiences to its customers around the world.

“Two awards granted by professionals who judge cars as part of their work demonstrate that our lineup connects with the European market,” he pointed out Giuseppe Lovascio, Chief Operating Officer of GWM Italia, who especially highlighted the recognition within ORA 5 and the innovation of the TANK 300.

ORA 03: an interior designed around people

The GWM ORA 5 he was recognized with the award for Best Interior Design in the category Family vehicle, thanks to a proposal developed under the concept “Three Moments in Time”, which seeks to create a comfortable and adaptable environment to accompany different moments of the day.

The recognition highlights how the ORA 5 combines space, comfort, and practicality in its cabin. Its large glazed surfaces provide a greater sense of space, while the ergonomic seats, the ambient lighting and their storage solutions make every journey more pleasant. To this is added the 14.6-inch central touchscreen and the 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, which offer an intuitive and connected experience for those traveling on board. A proposal that reflects GWM's vision of creating interiors that not only look good, but also respond to the needs of daily mobility.

Design that is also present in Ecuador

The international recognition of the ORA 5 comes at an important time for GWM in Ecuador, a market where the brand has established itself among the leading options in the sector and currently occupies the third place in sales. The GWM ORA 5 joins this proposal with an alternative 100% Electric that combines design, technology, and practicality for everyday use.

TANK 300: technology to take the adventure further

The second recognition obtained by GWM at TADA 2026 was for the GWM TANK 300, which received the Best Technological Innovation Award in the category Premium Car.

The recognition highlights the technological proposal of the TANK 300, an SUV that combines electrification, power and off-road capabilities. In Ecuador, the available model incorporates a 2.0 L Turbo Hybrid Engine, with a power of 345 combined hp and a maximum torque of 648 Nm combined, associated with a 9-speed automatic transmission.

Its ability to handle different types of terrain is complemented by a system of 4x4 drive with transfer case, a fundamental feature for those looking for a vehicle prepared to go off-road and tackle more demanding conditions.

This proposal is complemented by a comprehensive technology and security package that includes 360° camera, ADAS system, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, forward collision warning, blind spot sensors, hill descent control, and electronic stability control, among other functions.

Thus, the TANK 300 combines hybrid power, 4x4 traction, technology and comfort, keeping its capacity for adventure and driving in different scenarios as the protagonist.

Two awards, two ways of understanding innovation

The recognitions obtained by ORA 5 and TANK 300 represent two different ways of understanding where the automotive industry is heading. While the HOUR 5 focuses on an interior where technology, comfort, and functionality are integrated into daily life, the TANK 300 demonstrate how electrification can coexist with adventure and the capabilities of a 4x4 vehicle.

GWM continues advancing in design and technology

This dual recognition marks a new milestone for GWM and reflects a vision that is also reaching Ecuador: developing vehicles that combine design, technology, functionality, and new powertrain alternatives, keeping the needs of each market in mind.
